Experts agree: Health starts at home.
“We spend 80-90% of our time indoors where being exposed to emissions from things like wood burning, cleaning chemicals, damp and mould […] can significantly affect people.”
“We also don’t see lead in water. It’s invisible. Because we don’t physically see it […] we don’t know it’s there.”
“If you’re able to see things really well, it’s probably too light.”
“[…] the indoor environment is an important, if not more important, source of exposure to harmful chemicals [than outdoor air pollution].”
“We wouldn’t accept 30,000 preventable deaths from any other cause.”

“The person who manages your building has a greater impact on your health than your doctor.”

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the assessment cover?
The environmental factors of your home that research links to health: air (ventilation, damp, everyday pollution sources), water, light and sleep conditions, and the everyday environment—materials, moisture and household habits.
Do I need monitors or test kits?
No. The assessment works with what you can see, what you can tell us and what we can look up. Where a monitor or test could help you, your action plan suggests it as a next step.
Will it just tell me everything is dangerous? Or everything is fine?
No. A large part of the report is what you can stop worrying about, and we never introduce a concern without showing what to do about it.
How much does it cost?
You’ll receive a limited report for free. The full report is £50.
I rent: Is this still useful?
Yes. Many of the highest-impact improvements don't require owning the building.
